Our after school clubs enrich their food education with more skill practice and meaningful projects!
In cooking clubs, students have the opportunity to build their kitchen skills over multiple weeks. They learn how to assess flavors, prep ingredients, and apply cooperation & math skills while working toward the culminating project of cooking a recipe from start to finish with independence.
Garden club students plan and prepare for a pop-up farm stand to share the spring harvest with their school communities! In service of this project, each week of garden club focuses on a different life sciences topic: seeds, life cycles, plant parts, plant families, soil and worms, & animals and pollination.
See below for if your school is on our current registration list! If you’re interested in setting up gardening or cooking clubs at your elementary school, reach out to emily.hie@commonthreadsfarm.org for more info.
