Cultivating Good Eaters, Growing Community
At Common Threads Farm, we empower kids with hands-on food education across four enriching programs:
Our School-Day Program brings gardening and cooking lessons into K-5 classrooms at elementary schools throughout Whatcom County, connecting science, nutrition, and social-emotional learning through planting, harvesting, and cooking.
After-School Clubs turn classrooms and gardens into welcoming spaces for students to develop their skills and make a difference in their communities.
Camps (Spring and Summer) invite K–5 kids to dig in the earth, whip up healthy meals, and explore nature in an inclusive, joyful camp setting.
The Food Truck (affectionately known as Basil) delivers fresh, free, scratch-cooked meals—as well as nutrition education—to kids furthest from opportunity, all powered by local farms and Common Threads Farm’s gardens, whenever possible.
From schoolyards to our mobile Food Truck, each initiative is rooted in our mission to grow good eaters, spark curiosity, and nourish communities.
