Our Programs

Cultivating Good Eaters, Growing Community

At Common Threads Farm, we empower kids with hands-on cooking and garden education across four enriching programs:

School-Day Program brings gardening and cooking lessons into K-5 classrooms at elementary schools throughout Whatcom County, connecting science, nutrition, and emotional learning through planting, harvesting, and cooking.

After-School & Community Clubs turn classrooms and gardens into welcoming spaces at schools and neighborhood sites — where cooking and gardening together becomes fun, social, and empowering.

Camps (Summer & Break) invite K–5 kids to dig in the earth, whip up healthy meals, and explore nature in an inclusive, joyful camp setting.

The Food Truck Program (affectionately known as Basil) delivers fresh, free, scratch-cooked meals—and cooking fun—to neighborhoods and schools, all powered by local farms and Common Threads gardens, whenever possible.

From schoolyards to our mobile Food Truck, each initiative is rooted in our mission to grow good eaters, spark curiosity, and nourish communities.
