The Columbia School Garden was established in 2008. This sweet garden was designed by Mardi Solomon, a Columbia Parent, and was built with the help of volunteers, generous local donors, Columbia’s Parent Association (CPA), and the School Ground Enhancement Committee.
This garden comprises a handful of raised beds with 208 square feet of growing space. The raised beds are filled with squash, beans, peas, tomatoes, garlic, strawberries, and leafy greens. A special memorial garden called Jessie’s Place honors a former Columbia student. The Columbia Garden offers a spot to sit for snack time, a quiet place to write in a journal, a space to do yoga, or a quiet place to observe the life forms that share the garden.
