• 2 cups bread flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2/3 cups water


  • Large bowl
  • Fork
  • Cast iron pan or an electric skillet

What to do:

  • Mix together flour & salt in a large bowl
  • Add oil and mix in with a fork until crumbly
  • Add water and mix until dough pulls together
  • Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic
  • Divide into six equal parts and form into rounds
  • Roll out as thinly as possible and dust with flour to prevent sticking
  • Invert a heavy cast iron pan over burner OR set up an electric skillet and heat
  • Cook flatbread for about a minute – serve hot and enjoy!

This flatbread is delicious with hummus – we also use this recipe in our hummus salad wraps:

  • 2 cans low-sodium chickpeas
  • 5 Tbsp tahini
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  1. Place chickpeas in a bowl and mash.
  2. Add tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and salt, and mix well.
