Ingredients:
- 2 cups bread flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 2/3 cups water
Materials:
- Large bowl
- Fork
- Cast iron pan or an electric skillet
What to do:
- Mix together flour & salt in a large bowl
- Add oil and mix in with a fork until crumbly
- Add water and mix until dough pulls together
- Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic
- Divide into six equal parts and form into rounds
- Roll out as thinly as possible and dust with flour to prevent sticking
- Invert a heavy cast iron pan over burner OR set up an electric skillet and heat
- Cook flatbread for about a minute – serve hot and enjoy!
This flatbread is delicious with hummus – we also use this recipe in our hummus salad wraps:
- 2 cans low-sodium chickpeas
- 5 Tbsp tahini
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tsp salt
- Place chickpeas in a bowl and mash.
- Add tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and salt, and mix well.
